Doom and gloom in the money markets, credit crunch biting, how much more can any of us take on one depressing headline after another in the papers.
But in spite of this some people still have to move and for all manner of reasons be it job relocation, or changes in personal circumstances both good and bad.
Providing you do your homework or of course have a property search agent to advise you…this is a good time to buy. Gone are the heady days and overheated markets, now the buyer has a chance to carefully consider his purchase without having to look over his shoulder worrying that he will be overtaken in the rush. That is not to say that that he won`t be on occasion but the pressure is off for the most part.
If you have to sell before you buy, consider carefully your asking price, have a number of valuations from reputable agents, listen to their advice, don`t just go for the highest figure, take an average and with luck that will not be too far out.

How long will it take to see light at the end of the tunnel? Recent research by Savills indicates, “The housing market recovery, when it comes, will be led by London and the South-East, where by 2012 values will have recovered to those pre-slump”
By then, who knows, you could have moved and be enjoying the upturn!
